Abstract
Organizations are undergoing digital transformation 2.0, investing in advanced technologies (particularly AI) to create value for stakeholders and the environment while complying with frameworks like the UNFCCC and GDPR. Academics highlight "responsible digitalization" as a niche yet critical topic, urging research on practical implementation. Addressing this gap, this paper explores how an Austrian government museum can responsibly transition into a green and digital institution by optimizing energy and resource use through efficient technology adoption. A single case study design is employed, combining primary data from leadership interviews and workshops with secondary data from public sources. The study applies a conceptual framework to demonstrate initial results, offering insights into balancing digital advancement with sustainability and digital considerations. This research contributes to the limited practical use cases on responsible digitalization, providing actionable strategies for conventional cultural organizations in the AI era.
