Abstract
Transmission system operators are responsible for secure and reliable operation of their grids. An important issue is the analysis of the impact of outages of transmission elements on the post contingency load flow. An effective tool for fast load flow calculation and grid security analysis is the use of Power Transfer Distribution Factors (PTDFs) and Line Outage Distribution Factors (LODFs). The following paper shows that the concept of LODFs can be extended for application on grids with load flow controlling elements such as phase shifting transformers (PSTs).
