Abstract

This paper presents the development of a dedicated test rig to investigate the characteristics of belt-driven diverter wheels used for sorting technology in intralogistics. The research aims to determine the transmissible load torque, and other factors affecting the performance of belt-wheels combinations. A dynamic load test is conducted to measure the maximum transmissible torque, while an endurance test evaluates the wear and durability of the wheel and drive train under continuous load. The results provide valuable insights for optimizing sorting systems in intralogistics, particularly in high-performance applications such as parcel sorting for CEP-services. The study contributes to the development of more efficient and reliable sorting technology, which is essential to meet the growing demands of business competition.
