Abstract
With the growing interest in Industry 4.0 and the transition toward Industry 5.0, the application of extended reality (XR) in industrial settings show significant potential. This potential arises from the strong alignment between industrial objectives and existing infrastructure. Drawing from our research with industrial partners, this paper examines the benefits of employing XR in such environments. We present an illustrated use case, which is expanded into a comprehensive list of opportunities and challenges. These insights aim to inform and guide the research community in developing XR adaptive systems that effectively leverage adaptive interfaces and remote collaboration.
