Abstract
The atmospheric conditions along the measurement path have to be known for high accurate electronic distance measurements. The standard method for the atmospheric correction requires atmospheric measurements at the end points of the EDM path. However, these punctual measurements are not able to describe the atmospheric conditions along the whole measurement path. The Local Scale Parameter Method (LSPM) is presented as an alternative method for the atmospheric correction of EDM measurements. This method was applied to measurement data recorded at the new EDM calibration base of UniBw Munich. The results demonstrate that costly and time consuming atmospheric measurements at
