The Institute of Visual Computing (IVC) was founded on January 1, 2025, through the merger of the Institutes of Computer Graphics and Vision (ICG) and Computer Graphics and Knowledge Visualization (CGV). With a team of approximately 100 researchers, IVC specializes in visual computing, encompassing fields such as computer graphics, geometry processing, visual analytics, computer vision, augmented and virtual reality, machine learning, and medical imaging. Committed to advancing both fundamental research and industry collaboration, the institute works in close partnership with organizations like Fraunhofer Austria and VRVis.
