Short Description:
The area of responsibility of the institute includes more than one single technical subject e.g.
- Electrical machines
- Electrical drives
- Converter-technique and
- Drive-control.
Main emphasis of research in the field of electrical machines is the investigation of static and transient behaviour and the improvement of calculation and design.
In the area of electrical drives especially speed- or torque- controlled electrical drives in connection with converter-supply as well as drive-systems for road and rail traction vehicles are most significant.
All this especially the description of dynamic behaviour needs devotion to drive-control and sirculation of electrical and mechanical prozedures.
